The students take a character strengths survey and we discuss our strengths, both academic and personal. The students then present on their results from the survey and share other aspects of themselves that they feel are important in their self-identity.

Different friendship, parental, sibling, etc. scenarios are discussed and role played.
What is Bullying?
We discuss the different forms of bullying and the research based results of bullying in school-aged individuals. We then brainstorm ways be make the school a more positive and encouraging environment.
Understanding Emotions & Acts of Kindness
We talk about emotions and when those emotions arise how it feels. We discuss when and why they occur and different coping strategies.
Careers
Goal Setting & Decision Making
Students take an interest profiler and are matched with a few career clusters that fit their interests. They then research occupations that most interest them.
Students learn the "SMART" goal setting method then set personal, academic, and career goals. We discuss different methods of decision making and talk as a class about decisions we make every day and those we need to make in the future.
