8th grade is an exciting year-last year in middle school and next year is the big transition to high school!
It is very important to meet with your student and myself to talk about future plans/dreams and what high school should look like. I facilitate individual planning conferences in the spring with you and your student. In this conference we discuss:
I look forward to planning with you and your student! Below is one way to set up a conference with me. Keep scrolling and you'll see some sample lessons that 8th graders will experience this year. |
ExpectationsStudents learn and discuss what is expected of them as students at Pardeeville Middle School. We talk about how important it is that they are positive, successful, and contributing members of the school. They are the oldest this year, therefore they are leaders and role models!

High School PlanningThe students learn what is offered in the high school and make a four year high school plan based on career and personality inventories. We then make their freshman year schedules. These come home to parents/guardians to be signed off on so look out for these and make sure you scheduled a time to meet with me!

College & Career BoundTo get students thinking about the world of work and help prepare them for applying to jobs we create resumes and take interest inventories. We set up mock interviews and look into local job openings. We discuss how what we do now to be college and career ready will benefit us greatly in the future.
